Admin constitutes sub-committee to identify posts for persons with benchmark disabilities

Srinagar: Close on the heels of identifying posts suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities, the administration of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory has set-up a sub-committee for its revision/updation.

The committee constituted by the government has been empowered to identify the new post(s)/or any other existing post(s) which are suitable for the persons with benchmark disabilities.

While identifying the posts, the sub-committee, according to an order, shall also specify the type of benchmark disability for which the identified posts are suitable.

The recommendations of the sub-committee comprising Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Director Social Welfare Jammu, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director Health Services Jammu and Executive Director J&K Rehabilitation Council shall be deliberated in the expert committee for a further report to the government.

The senior-most Director Social Welfare shall be convener of the committee which shall meet at regular intervals, the order states.

On November 27, 2020, the government had constituted an expert panel headed by Administrative Secretary Finance, and comprising Administrative Secretary General Administration Department, Administrative Secretary Social Welfare department and others to identify posts in different departments which can be held by respective category of persons with benchmark disabilities in respect of the vacancies reserved for the disabled by the government.
