Jammu: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Saturday inspected the ongoing Digiana–Jeevan Nagar Bridge project and reviewed restoration and development works at the historic Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, directing officials to ensure timely completion of works while maintaining quality standards.
During an inspection of the bridge project from Sabzi Mandi Lane, Satwari, the Deputy Chief Minister assessed the progress achieved on the ground and directed the concerned departments to expedite the work without compromising on quality. He said the project is important for improving connectivity and easing public movement in the area.
Later, Choudhary visited the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and reviewed the ongoing restoration works, including the restoration of affected lawns and walls of the historic Gadadhar Temple.
He stressed the need to preserve the heritage character and cultural significance of the complex while ensuring quality execution of restoration works.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the availability of essential civic amenities for residents living in and around the heritage complex. Taking note of public concerns, he directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to residents of Andheri Gali Mohalla, Panjtirthi, Mubarak Mandi and adjoining areas.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, heritage conservation and efficient public service delivery, Choudhary instructed officers to work in close coordination and address public issues in a time-bound manner.
