Valley Hunks Ganderbal win 50 over cricket tourney

Anantnag, July 22: Valley Hunks Ganderbal (VHG) won the title of first 50 over cricket tourney here beating Bijbehara CA by one wicket.

The tourney was first of its kind 50 over format played on turf wicket in Kashmir. 64 teams from all district of Kashmir participated in the tournament.

In the final match, Bijbehara CA played first and were bundled out on 162 runs. Danish and Waseem took 3 wickets each for VH Ganderbal.

Chasing the target, VH Ganderbal got off to slow start and lost 4 wickets in quick succession.

90 runs partnership between Danish and Sameer put VH Ganderbal back in match. Danish was dismissed on 40 runs.

With 30 runs to target, VH Ganderbal lost 9 wickets. Last wicket 30 runs heroic partnership between Waseem and Zaid sealed victory for VH Ganderbal .

International cricketer Parviaz Rasool was playing for Bijbehara CA. He took 2 wickets.

The Tourney was organised by Cricket Association Anantnag.
