Acting Chief Justice inaugurates lawyers’ chambers in Anantnag

Anantnag: Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, on Monday inaugurated newly constructed lawyers’ chambers at the District Court Complex (DCC) Anantnag and laid the foundation stone for a proposed Munsiff Court Complex at Dooru.

Justice Kumar was accompanied by Justice Sanjay Dhar, Administrative Judge for Anantnag district.

Addressing a gathering at the District Court Complex, the Acting Chief Justice stressed the importance of modern judicial infrastructure and adequate facilities for advocates and judicial officers to support efficient delivery of justice. He also highlighted the role of professional ethics, integrity and continued learning in the legal profession.

Justice Kumar said the new chambers would provide improved working facilities for advocates and contribute to the effective functioning of the justice delivery system.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Sanjay Dhar emphasised the need for continuous development of court infrastructure to make justice more accessible and efficient. He also called upon stakeholders in the justice delivery system to uphold professional ethics and institutional dignity.

Earlier, Acting President of Bar Association Anantnag, Advocate Peer Shafiq, delivered the welcome address, while Principal District and Sessions Judge Anantnag, Tahir Khurshid Raina, described the inauguration of the chambers as a significant addition to the district’s judicial infrastructure.

Later, at Dooru, the Acting Chief Justice laid the foundation stone for the proposed Munsiff Court Complex, which is expected to provide improved facilities for judicial officers, advocates and litigants in the area. He also interacted with members of the Bar Association Dooru and representatives of civil society.

Among those present were Registrar General of the High Court M.K. Sharma, Registrar Judicial Khurshid-ul-Islam, Registrar Computer (IT) Umesh Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure, judicial officers, district administration officials, members of the Bar and staff of the district judiciary.
