Jammu: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday asked party workers to strengthen the organisation across Jammu and Kashmir, intensify public outreach and connect more youth with the BJP’s ideology and the Narendra Modi-led government’s development agenda.
Addressing a meeting of BJP office-bearers at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Nabin said the party’s growth in Jammu and Kashmir was the result of the dedication, discipline and sacrifices of its workers over several decades.
The meeting was attended by BJP national general secretary and J&K in-charge Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP president Sat Sharma, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, BJP national secretary and MLA Narinder Singh, MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ghulam Ali Khatana, former deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh, former J&K BJP presidents Ravinder Raina and Ashok Khajuria, besides senior party leaders.
Nabin said the vision of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee for the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country had been realised under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He alleged that Jammu and Kashmir had for decades been associated with hartals, curfews and separatism, affecting the aspirations of its youth, and claimed that the abrogation of Article 370 had opened the way for greater integration and development.
Calling for organisational expansion in both the Jammu and Kashmir regions, Nabin directed party leaders to hold regular organisational meetings, maintain continuous public contact and effectively communicate the BJP’s ideology, programmes and the achievements of the Central Government.
Emphasising the role of youth and women in nation-building, he urged party workers to increase their participation in the organisation and actively engage with young people to promote the BJP’s vision of development, good governance and national progress.
Nabin also said the BJP’s work culture was rooted in year-round public service, unlike parties that become active only during elections.
Earlier, J&K BJP president Sat Sharma briefed the national president on the party’s organisational activities and expansion plans across the Union Territory, while Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma outlined the prevailing political situation and the party’s role as the principal opposition.
Later, Nitin Nabin, accompanied by senior BJP leaders, visited the historic Shree Raghunath Temple in Jammu.
