B2V4: CEO ERA & MD JJM carries out several dev activities at Baramulla

BARAMULLA: As part of the Government’s ambitious Back to Village-4 programme, CEO ERA and Mission Director JJM J&K, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today conducted an extensive tour of Kanispora Baramulla and took stock of ongoing activities in village Panchayats.

The visiting officer was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar; Joint Director Planning, M Yousuf Rather; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, and other functionaries of concerned departments.

During the visit, Dr Abid interacted with PRIs, social activists, and locals to take stock of their issues concerning the welfare and development of their areas. He listened to the issues raised by the participants on the occasion.

While interacting with people, Dr Abid said that the aim and objective of the B2V4 programme is to reach out to the people of the district at their doorsteps, and listen to their demands and issues for early redressal. He appealed to people to come forward and participate enthusiastically in the program.

He said that the visiting officers have been deployed at Panchayats to ensure that they can voice the genuine issues being raised by people in a transparent manner so that effective solutions can be undertaken as well as to review the implementation of welfare measures on the ground and identify gap areas.

Earlier, the visiting officer inspected the stalls installed by different departments and enquired about the grievance redressal mechanism being adopted to the satisfaction of the public.

The Visiting Officer also inaugurated a playfield at Kanispora under Aspirational District Programme and also inaugurated a cricket match. He also inaugurated a Volleyball match at High School Kanispora and deliberated upon them to contribute to nation-building.

On the occasion, the visiting officer also distributed land passbooks among the farmers. He said that it is a landmark initiative taken by the J&K Government to provide Land Passbooks to the lawful landowners to further improve the service delivery and enhance transparency and accountability in the system.

The DC also spoke on the occasion and expressed her happiness for the mass participation of people in B2V4 across all Panchayats of Baramulla in which PRIs and all the members of Gram Panchayats took an active part in the planning exercise.

She said that the fourth phase of the Back to Village Programme is an action-packed deliverable-oriented program with a focus on youth, skill development and self-employment, good governance, Panchayati Raj, Nasha Mukt and Rozgaar Youth Jammu and Kashmir.
