Two arrested with fake currency notes
Srinagar: Police today arrested two persons from Bandipora and seized fake currency notes from their possession.
A police spokesman said that acting on specific information, Bandipora Police arrested two individuals and recovered fake Indian currency notes from their possession.
“Police arrested two individuals in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bandipora for circulating fake currency notes and seized counterfeit currency notes worth Rs. 10,000 of 500 denominations from their possession,” the spokesman said, adding, the arrested persons were identified as Nisar Ahmad lone resident of Check Rashipora Bandipora and Abdul Rashid Akhoon resident of Gurez at present Sonarwani, Bandipora.
A case FIR No. 40 /2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bandipora and investigation into the matter has been initiated, he said.
