70th Republic Day celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir with gaiety

At Budgam

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 26: In connection with celebration of 70th Republic-Day, functions were held across Kashmir Division on Saturday with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

At Pulwama, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines, with great fervor and enthusiasm. Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Mohammad Dar unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Commandos, Homeguard and School children participated in the march past.

SSP Pulwama Chandan Kohli and other officers of Police and Civil administration were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC thanked people of the district for their cooperation and coordination in various developmental achievements in the District

Various colourful and mesmerizing cultural programmes were presented by the artists of Information Department and Youth Services & Sports.

On the occasion, students belonging to various government institutions who passed class 10th and 12th examination with outstanding merit were also felicitated.

Republic Day celebrations were also held at Sub-Division Tral Awantipora and Tehsil headquarters in the district.

At Kulgam, the main function was held at District Police Lines, where Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past.

Contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKP ladies Police group, District Police band, Home Guards, NCC cadets and platoons of boys and girls from different government and private educational institutions participated in the march past.

During his speech, the DDC highlighted the developmental scenario of District Kulgam where several developmental projects are under execution and will be completed in fixed time line he added.

 At Anantnag

Principal and Sessions Judge Kishore Kumar,  SSP Kulgam Harmeet Singh Mehta, ADDC, Khawaja Nazir Ahmad, commandant CRPF 18th battalion,  Henzang,  ADC, Ghulam Hassan Shiekh and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

Later, award ceremony was held in which CRPF bagged first position in March past, and JKP second position.

Republic day celebrations were also held at Sub Division D H Pora, and at all tehsil headquarters of district Kulgam.

At Budgam, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar took salute at march past and unfurled the national flag at the main function which was held at Sports Stadium Budgam. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Home Guards, NCC and school students participated in the march past parade.

Former Minister Javed Mustafa Mir, SP Budgam, Amod Ashok Nagpure, ADDC Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, ADC Budgam Khurshid Ahmad Shah and senior officers of the district attended the function, besides large gathering of locals.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Budgam, while highlighting the importance of the Republic Day, said that the district administration is committed to the overall development of its people.

The DC called upon all citizens to coordinate with the administration and contribute in making the district more prosperous and progressive.

On the occasion, different cultural programmes were also presented by school students who mesmerised the audience with their scintillating performances.

On the occasion, awards were given to various employees for their meritorious services.

Meanwhile the day was also celebrated with nationalist fervour at Sub division and Tehsil levels of the district.

At Bandipora, the main function was held at SK Stadium Bandipora where Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary unfurled the national flag and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JK Police, JKAP, BSF, CRPF, NCC Cadets and students of various schools.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of the Day and also presented a detailed report on developmental front.

He said the recent Municipal and Panchayat elections were a major step towards strengthening the democracy at grass root level that will open a new chapter of development in the state.

While presenting the performance of the district administration during the current financial year so far, Dr Choudhary said 2018-19 will be remembered as a golden period of the district with major projects  seeing the light of the day.

SSP Bandipora Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, ADC Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, officers from civil administration, police, army, besides senior citizens were present on the occasion.

Later the Deputy Commissioner felicitated the meritorious students of class 10th and 12th besides several officers for their exceptional performance during the year.

Similar functions were also held at Sub-District Level at  Sumbal and Gurez besides at Tehsil Headquarters.

At Anantnag, the main function was held at Government Degree College (Boys) Khanabal, where the Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the Parade.

Contingents of 40th Bn CRPF, 11th Bn JKAP, JKP (District Police) DPL Anantnag, District Ladies Police, J&K Home Guards, District Police Band (DPL), NCC cadets, school children from various Govt. and private educational institutions and District Police Band participated in the March Past Parade.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, said that Indian constitution has guaranteed rights to its citizens like right to religion, education and right to democracy. He paid homage to the founder of the Indian constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and said that besides having various cultures, languages and religions every citizen enjoys his/her fundamental rights.

The DC, Anantnag highlighted the role of various departments taking the district to new heights of the development. He said that under Annual District Plan 2018-19, Rs 199.5 crore were sanctioned and earmarked for various sectors.

The best performers in March Past, cultural programmes, dance and drama were awarded with trophies, and consolation prizes.

The function was attended by all district and sectoral officers and employees of all departments and general public.

At Ganderbal, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla unfurled the National Flag at Madre Meharban Stadium here today.

At Baramulla

The DDC took salute at the march-past, presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, PTS Manigam, Home Guards, besides, school children from various educational institutions presented scintillating and colourful cultural items including traditional folk and patriotic songs.

In his address, DDC lauded the importance of Republic Day celebration and highlighted the various developmental achievements registered by district administration including education, sports, Public Works and health sector.

The function concluded with distribution of prizes among the parade contingents and students who secured the first, second and third position in their parade and cultural performances. Besides media persons were felicitated for their services.

Trophies and cash prizes were also distributed among students who showed remarkable performances in recently declared 10th/12th results by JKBOSE.

At Baramulla, a grand function was organized at District Police Lines here  with District Development Commissioner, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash  as the Chief Guest.

GOC 19 Infantry Division Major General Gulaab Singh Rawat, DIG North, Kashmir Atul Goyal, DIG CRPF, SSP Baramulla, ADC Baramulla, ACR,President Municipal Council Baramulla, officers from Civil, Police and Army besides a huge gathering of people was present on the occasion.

The DDC hoisted the tricolor, inspected the Parade and took salute at the March Past presented by the contingents of District Police, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Service and School children.

Highlighting the importance of Republic Day, the DDC emphasised on the various aspects of the rapid development of the Nation. He enlisted various developmental projects being undertaken in different sectors viz education, health, rural development etc and said that the district has recorded splendid development in these sectors.

The DDC also complimented the services rendered by the officers of district administration and emphasised upon them to work with more enthusiasm in placing   district Baramulla at top slot.

Various cultural programmes depicting the cultural diversity and heritage of the state were presented by the groups of school children and Information Department. Skits based on the theme of “National Integration” were presented by the school children.

A Prize distribution ceremony was held, wherein awards were presented to the schools for their best performance in March Pasts and Cultural presentation. Officers were also given awards for their excellent works in different fields.

Meanwhile, functions in connection with the Republic day celebration were held across the district at Sub-Divisional and Tehsil levels.

At Kupwara, the main function was held at District Police Lines Kupwara, where  District Development Commissioner, Khalid Jahangir hoisted the tricolor, inspected the Parade and took salute on the March Past presented by the contingents of District Police, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Service and School children.

Highlighting the importance of Republic Day, DDC emphasized on promoting national integration, communal harmony and peace.

He also highlighted that District has shown tremendous growth in various sectors viz Education, Health, Hortic

At Kargil, the 70th Republic Day was celebrated with immense patriotic zeal and gaiety. Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan hoisted the national tricolor at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium and took salute at march past by the contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police, NCC, Army and civil band besides a number of contingents of government and private educational institutions.

Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Aga Syed Mujtaba, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal, Superintendent of Police Dr Vinod Kumar, Councillors, district officers besides the representatives of various political, social and religious organisations were also present on the occasion.

While highlighting the achievements, developmental activities underway and future plans of the present Council in Kargil District, the CEC said that the council is fully committed towards the overall development of the district in all sectors and several important initiatives are presently underway in this regard.

At Shopian, 70th Republic Day was celebrated across district with great vehemence and national spirit. Celebrations were held at district headquarters, Sub-Division, Zainpora and at all tehsil headquarters. The main function was held at District Police Lines where chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmad hoisted tricolour and took salute of the March past.

Contingents of JKAP, JK Executive Police, JK FPF, Home Guards and Fire & Emergency besides the contingents of students from government schools took part in the March past.

Present on the occasion were Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Salim Malik, ADC Shabir Bhat, SSP Sandeep Choudhary, Addl. SP Arif Shah, ACR Majid Jahangir, senior Officers of Army and CRPF and district officers of all the departments.

In his Speech, Dr. Owais extended warm wishes to the public of Shopian and also paid rich tributes to the makers of constitution which lays the foundation of worlds largest democracy.

Dr Owais while hailing the annual turnover of Rs. 1000 Cr in horticulture sector in the district said that more schemes and opportunities will be given to the orchardists for the development of horticulture sector. He said more than 90 percent of people in district are directly dependent on horticulture sector and government is committed to nourish this sector with more facilities and schemes to the orchardists.

He further said that the Government is fully committed towards all round development of the district and several important initiatives and projects are under way for the development of district.

Dr. Owais congratulated the public on getting fulfilled their years old demand of upgradation of Sub-District Hospital to District Hospital at Shopian. He said the district hospital, sub-district hospitals and NTPHCs are being provided adequate staff and equipments so as to provide better health care services to the public.

On the occasion troupes of school going students presented cultural programmes based on theme of patriotism, cultural and linguistic diversity of the district and rich tributes to the founders of constitution. Students of SQAY Federation showcased their talent martial arts to promote self defence spirit to the viewers especially girls.

The Deputy Commissioner felicitated outstanding youth in the field of education and sports. He also felicitated officers and officials of different departments for their outstanding performance especially during the winter.

Meanwhile, 70th Republic Day was celebrated across the Jammu division with great enthusiasm, gaiety and fervour.

At Kathua, the main function to celebrate the 70th Republic Day was held today at Sports Stadium, Kathua.

Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, unfurled the National Flag and took salute at march past comprising contingents from Police, CRPF, Police Training School, NCC and students from various government/private schools.

Felicitating the people on 70th Republic Day, Rohit Khajuria said the Day is a national festival, which is a matter of pride and honour to celebrate.

SSP Kathua, Shridhar Patil, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ghanshyam Singh, ADDC, Shubra Sharma, ASP, Nasir Khan, District Officers, prominent citizens and a large number of people and students were present on the occasion.

Similar functions were held at Billawar, Hiranagar, Bani, and Basohli areas of the district.

At Udhampur, the 70th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour here today. The main function was held in the premises of Government PG College, Boys Udhampur wherein Deputy Commissioner Ravinder Kumar hoisted the National flag.

The DC highlighted the major projects and achievements of district Udhampur.

DIG Udhampur Reasi Range, Suleman Choudhary, Director SKPA, M. S Salaria, SSP Udhampur Rajiv Omparkash Pandey,  ADDC Ashok Kumar, ADC Gurvinderjeet Singh besides district officers and other senior officers of Army, CRPF, Air Force, BSF Police and civil administration were present on the occasion.

Similar celebrations were also held at Chenani, Majalta, Dudu-Basantgarh, Ramnagar and in other parts of the district.

At Doda, the day was celebrated here today with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The tricolour was hoisted by the District Development Commissioner Anshul Garg.

The DDC inspected the parade and took salute at the march past Contingents of JK Police, IR 5th Bn, CRPF 76 Bn, NCC senior and junior, FPF and various school children attended the parade.

A colourful cultural programme was presented by the school children. The programme was highly appreciated by the dignitaries and gathering.

SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir Malik, ADDC Doda Mohammad Hanief Malik, ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma, SP HQ Vinay Kumar Khullar, DFO Alok Mourya, and other officers of district administration, Army, CRPF, Police, representatives of various political parties, prominent citizens and a large gathering of people attended the Republic day celebrations.

Similar functions were held at all the sub-divisions and Tehsils Headquarters of the district.

At Kishtwar, the Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, fervour and national spirit at New DC Office Complex wherein Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana unfurled the tricolour.

SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Brigadier Vikram Bhan, Commandant CRPF 52 Battalion, Suresh Kumar, ADDC Kishtwar Imam Din, ADC Pawan Kumar Parihar besides other  officers from Army, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, district administration, prominent citizens, social workers, political activists and a large number of people were present on the occasion.

Similar celebrations were also held at different subdivisions and Tehsil Headquarters of the district.

At Rajouri, Various functions were held across the district with great enthusiasm and fervour today.

The main function was held at District Police Lines wherein Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad unfurled the national flag and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JK Police, JKAP, CRPF,  Ladies Police, Forest Protection Force, NCC cadets and students from different schools and hostels.

Among others, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Deepak Kumar Salathia, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Yougal Manhas, Principal PG Degree College Rajouri, Registrar BGSBU, Rajouri, ex-legislators, senior citizens, senior officers of civil administration, Police and Paramilitary Forces besides a large number of people attended the function.

At Ramban, Deputy Commissioner Showkat Aijaz Bhat unfurled the national flag to mark the Republic Day celebrations. The main function was held at DPL Ramban which was attended by a large number of people.

Students of various institutes also presented cultural items which were highly appreciated by the audience.

SSP Ramban, Anita Sharma, Brigadier, 11 Sector RR,   ADDC, Nawab Din, ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, President MC Ramban, Amit Bharti,  Ex- legislator Neelam Langeh and other officers of civil, police and Army were present.

In his address, the DC recalled the contribution of freedom fighters and supreme sacrifices made by soldiers of different forces.

The DC also gave a brief account of the main developmental activities in the district including those which are to be completed in near future.

Similar functions where also held at Gool, Ramsoo and Banihal Subdivisions besides all Tehsil and Naib Tehsil headquarters including Batote, Chanderkot, Rajgarh.

At Poonch, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Yadav hoisted the National Flag at Sports Stadium here today.

The DC took salute at the march past presented by 29 contingents of JKP, JKAP, NCC, Band of Police, QRT Commando and platoons of students of various educational institutions.

The Deputy Commissioner mentioned various ongoing developmental and social schemes in the district and informed the public about achievements made under there.

He said that efforts are underway to take the district to new heights of development. He also mentioned the successful Panchayat and Municipal elections conducted in the district.

On the occasion, the students of various schools presented a colourful cultural program which was highly appreciated by the jam-packed audience.

At Reasi, Republic Day was celebrated today with enthusiasm, fervour and national spirit at Zorawar Singh Stadium here wherein Deputy Commissioner Dr Sagar Dattatray Doifode unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past from contingents of CISF, CRPF, J&K Police, JKAP, NCC cadets and educational institutions.

Cultural items were presented on the occasion and around a dozen departmental tableaus were displayed.

SSP Nisha Nathyal besides ACD, ACR, district officers and a large number of people were present on the occasion.

A social worker and environmentalist, Yograj Mengi, was also felicitated for his immense contribution to environmental protection.

Later, DC also distributed 30 cycles to needy students on behalf of NGO ‘Amhi Punekar’.

At Samba, 70th Republic Day was celebrated in a grand, impressive and colourful manner at sports stadium here.

Deputy Commissioner Samba Sushma Chauhan unfurled the National flag in presence of SSP Samba Dr. Koushal Kumar and took salute at the impressive march past of JK Police, Army, along with NCC cadets and different schools  children.

Medals, mementoes, trophies and certificates were also distributed among the winners of cultural events, March-past contingents, best performances in administration and in other categories.

ADDC Arvind Kotwal, ADC Vikas Gupta besides district officers, officials and other members from Police, Army, NCC, Red Cross were also present on the occasion.

At JMC Jammu, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta along with Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma, and Commissioner JMC Pankaj Magotra unfurled the tricolour at JMC Town Hall Complex Jammu.

They also distributed blankets among the widows of safai karamcharies.

On the occasion, Mayor and Deputy Mayor conveyed greetings to the employees of Jammu Municipal Corporation and appreciated the work of officials as well as safai karamcharies.

They stressed upon them to fulfil their duties and responsibilities with dedication, hard work and sincerity.

Among others, councillors of different wards, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Prem Singh Chib, Secretary Sunaina Sharma, Chief Accounts Officer, Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer and other concerned were also present.
