Dedicated efforts underway to resolve service matters of employees: Sharma

JAMMU, March 27: Advisor to Governor Kewal Kumar Sharma today said the dedicated efforts are underway to resolve the service related matters of the government employees projected through Employees Service Grievance Committee (ESGC), so that proper channelization and maintenance of human resource is ensured.

The Advisor was interacting with the officers at a high level meeting convened to review the implementation of recommendations and instructions passed to the departments by the   Employees Service Grievance Committee (ESGC) and also discussed the new issues projected by employees working in different departments.

Pertinently, the Committee has been constituted by the Governor to redress the service-related grievances of the government employees.

Members of the Committee, Principal Secretary to Governor, Umang Narula, Principal Secretary, Planning, Development, Monitoring & Grievances, Rohit Kansal representatives of different departments besides concerned senior functionaries and officers of Service Grievance cell attended the meeting.

The Advisor while taking stock of the action taken by the concerned departments on the directions sought follow up on instructions passed with regard to the grievances put forth by the employees.

“Committee is shouldered with the responsibility to resolve the issues related to service matters of the government employees and the departments should come up with practical solutions to the genuine issues projected by the employees through it get resolved”, he maintained.

The Advisor directed officers to take necessary steps after detailed deliberations on the issues projected by the employees. Financial implications, process and norms shall also be viewed by the concerned departments before making recommendations, he added.

It is pertinent to mention that during the maiden hearing of the Service Grievance Committee, over 300 government employees including 34 delegations and individuals turned up to register their service grievances with the committee.

Deliberations were held on new cases related to service matters of employees and follow up was also sought on the cases discussed in earlier two meetings.
