Srinagar: Six students of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) have been selected for fully funded research internships under the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), marking a significant academic achievement for the university.
The students secured the internships after clearing multiple rounds of screening and international interviews, reflecting their academic merit, research aptitude and technical skills.
The selected scholars include four undergraduate and two postgraduate students who will undertake research internships at three leading Taiwanese institutions — National Changhua University of Education (NCUE), National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) and National Dong Hwa University (NDHU).
Dhirender and Navneet Singh from the Faculty of Horticulture will pursue research at NCUE, while Nitish Kumar, Kartik Duneria and Fatima Jaan have been selected for NPUST. Sabyasachi Mukherjee will undertake his internship at NDHU.
During the programme, the students will work in advanced research laboratories, interact with international scientists and gain exposure to emerging technologies while contributing to academic and research collaboration between SKUAST-K and Taiwanese institutions.
Congratulating the students and their mentors, the Vice-Chancellor described the achievement as a matter of pride for the university and said international exposure would help students acquire scientific knowledge, global perspectives and cross-cultural experience.
He reiterated the university’s commitment to creating more international academic opportunities aimed at promoting research excellence, innovation and global partnerships.
The university said the achievement would further enhance SKUAST-K’s international visibility and support its goal of producing globally competitive graduates in the field of agriculture and allied sciences.
