The first phase of the questionnaire-based survey began on October 13 and covered adolescent girls studying in Classes 9 to 12 in selected schools across Jammu, Kishtwar, Kulgam and Srinagar districts.

The research is being conducted under the guidance of JKBOSE Chairman Gh. Hassan Sheikh and the supervision of Director Academics and UT Project Director, NPEP, Dr Parveen Singh, and Deputy Director Academics and UT Project Coordinator, Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal.

The exercise is being carried out in collaboration with the four selected District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs). District Nodal Officers from the respective DIETs and School Nodal Officers from participating schools were oriented on the study’s objectives, methodology and ethical considerations by Sirwal.

Dr Arif Jan, Deputy Director, Kashmir Division, and other NPEP Cell staff members assisted in conducting the survey across the sampled schools.

The findings are expected to inform further analysis, policy formulation and the development of intervention strategies aimed at improving the safety, well-being and empowerment of adolescent girls in Jammu and Kashmir.
