SRINAGAR: The Lal Chowk Post Office in Srinagar will remain open from 9 am to 9 pm, extending its working hours by four hours to facilitate mail and parcel booking beyond regular office timings.

The post office was earlier operational from 9 am to 5 pm. The extended schedule is aimed at improving access to postal services for shopkeepers, business establishments and tourists visiting Lal Chowk, one of Srinagar’s busiest commercial hubs.

Adam Mohiuddin, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, said the move would make postal services more accessible, particularly for people unable to visit the facility during regular working hours.

He said the extended timings would allow shopkeepers to book mail and parcels after completing their daily business activities. Tourists visiting the city would also benefit from the additional time to access postal facilities.

The initiative is expected to improve customer convenience and expand access to mail and parcel booking services in the Lal Chowk area.
