Srinagar: The Special Crime Wing (SCW), Kashmir, of the Crime Branch on Friday conducted a search at a residence in Safakadal, Srinagar, in connection with an alleged forgery case linked to an appointment in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The search was carried out in connection with FIR No. 10/2026 registered under Sections 420, 468 and 471 RPC and was conducted on the basis of a warrant issued by the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate (PT&E), Srinagar.
According to officials, the case pertains to allegations of securing appointment in the police department through forged documents relating to date of birth and educational qualifications.
As part of the investigation, the Special Crime Wing conducted a search at the residence of Selection Grade Constable Manzoor Ahmad Najar in Safakadal.
Officials said the search was carried out in accordance with legal procedures and that further details would be shared as the investigation progresses.
