ANANTNAG: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Yatra Officer for the Pahalgam axis, Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, on Tuesday reviewed arrangements for the Chhari Mubarak of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026 and directed officials to ensure all necessary facilities for the pilgrimage.
Chairing a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Dr Bhat reviewed preparations for the Chhari Mubarak, which is scheduled to leave Srinagar on August 22 and reach the Holy Cave on August 28 after halting at various locations along the route.
The meeting was informed that the Chhari Mubarak will participate in religious ceremonies at the Shiv Temple in Bijbehara, Martand-Tirth Mattan and Gourishankar Temple in Pahalgam before proceeding towards the cave shrine.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to ensure adequate availability of firewood, food, pooja samagri, drinking water, accommodation and sanitation facilities throughout the pilgrimage. He stressed the need for close coordination among departments and asked officials to complete all arrangements well in advance.
Special orders have also been issued to designated officers for the smooth conduct of the Chhari Mubarak journey.
Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure, Commandant 8th Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP), Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA), camp directors of Nunwan, Chandanwari, Sheshnag and Panjtarni, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam, representatives of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) and other officials attended the meeting
