Srinagar: Thousands of people participated in Tiranga rallies held across Anantnag, Kulgam and Budgam on Wednesday as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026 ahead of Independence Day.
In Anantnag, the rally was jointly led by Deputy Commissioner Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo, and Senior Superintendent of Police Ashok Amod Nagpure.
The rally began at Sports Stadium and culminated at Lal Chowk, passing through Mehdi Kadal and the main road. Officials, volunteers, members of self-help groups and residents from different sections of society participated.
In Kulgam, Deputy Commissioner Shahzad Alam and SSP Anayat Ali led a rally that began at the Mini Secretariat and culminated at Ghanta Ghar.
Before the rally, participants formed a human chain displaying the Tricolour at the Mini Secretariat lawns and joined a mass rendition of the national song, Vande Mataram. The rally also concluded with mass singing of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem.
In Budgam, Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan and SSP Hariprasad KK led a rally from Sports Stadium to Bihisht-e-Zehra Park, with students, youth and residents participating.
Khan said the participation reflected public engagement with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and urged residents to continue taking part in its activities. He said various programmes, including bike and bicycle rallies, cleanliness and plantation drives, painting and art competitions and other events, were being organised across the district.
Senior officers and officials from the three districts also participated in the rallies.
