Srinagar: JK Police Public School (JKPPS), Bemina, on Friday organised a plantation drive on its campus to mark World Environment Day and promote environmental awareness among students.
The programme was attended by Administrative Officer Maqsood-ul-Zaman as the chief guest. He planted a sapling on the occasion and appreciated the school’s efforts in encouraging environmental responsibility among young learners.
Addressing the participants, he highlighted the importance of tree plantation in combating climate change, preserving biodiversity and ensuring a sustainable future. He also stressed the need for collective action to protect the environment and strengthen ecological conservation efforts.
The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and staff members, who actively took part in the programme and reaffirmed their commitment to environmental stewardship.
The school administration reiterated its commitment to promoting green initiatives and instilling environmental values among students through awareness and participation-based activities.
The programme concluded with a pledge by participants to contribute towards building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable environment for future generations.
