Srinagar: Director Information Shreya Singhal on Monday reviewed preparations for the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) and directed officials to ensure seamless coordination and fool-proof arrangements for the event scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10.
Chairing a meeting at the Media Complex here, Singhal reviewed preparations related to venue management, delegate facilitation, hospitality, media coordination, transportation, cultural programmes, logistics and technical support. Senior officers of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), district information officers and other officials attended the meeting physically and through video conferencing.
The Director directed officers to complete all preparations within the stipulated timelines and emphasised close coordination among departments and agencies associated with the festival.
She also stressed the need for effective publicity to ensure wider national and international visibility for the event and asked officers to regularly monitor the progress of assigned works and resolve emerging issues promptly.
Officials informed the meeting that preparations were progressing as scheduled.
According to the department, the inaugural edition of the festival, themed “Rang-e-Cinema”, will be held from September 7 to 10 and aims to bring together filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences.
The department said the festival has received more than 1,100 film entries from over 50 countries across categories including International Competition, Short Film and Bharat Panorama J&K Select. It added that the event has also attracted a significant number of entries from filmmakers in Jammu and Kashmir.
