Srinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and several ministers on Tuesday extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, praying for peace, prosperity and communal harmony across the region.
Surinder Choudhary said Eid-ul-Adha holds immense religious and cultural significance for Muslims across the world and is celebrated with great fervour in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the festival symbolises sacrifice, discipline, devotion and complete surrender to the will of Almighty Allah while inspiring values of compassion, generosity and brotherhood.
The Deputy Chief Minister said Jammu and Kashmir has always remained a symbol of communal harmony, mutual respect and brotherhood and prayed for continued peace and progress in the region.
Meanwhile, Minister for Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education Sakeena Itoo extended warm greetings and prayed for peace, prosperity, happiness and good health for people.
She said Eid-ul-Adha reflects the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, brotherhood and selfless service to humanity and expressed hope that the occasion would further strengthen communal harmony and unity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana also greeted people on the occasion and described the festival as a symbol of sacrifice, compassion and selflessness.
He said Eid-ul-Adha inspires people to strengthen mutual respect and brotherhood and prayed for lasting peace, prosperity and social harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.
Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Departments Javid Ahmad Dar said Eid-ul-Adha symbolises sacrifice, generosity, empathy and devotion.
He expressed hope that the festival would strengthen harmony, compassion and peace in society and urged people to celebrate the occasion with a spirit of sharing and care for the underprivileged.
Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, Transport and Science and Technology Satish Sharma also extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings and said the festival promotes unity, mutual respect and communal harmony.
He said the occasion reminds people of values such as empathy, kindness and coexistence and urged society, especially youth, to embrace compassion, tolerance and social responsibility.
The ministers collectively prayed for peace, development and prosperity across Jammu and Kashmir and wished people a joyful and blessed Eid-ul-Adha.
