Srinagar: A group of 19 teachers from the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has expressed serious concern over the delay in issuance of posting orders despite their promotion to the post of Masters being approved.
The teachers said their Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) process has already been completed and the Directorate of School Education Kashmir issued promotion orders for eligible candidates on February 27, 2026. However, they alleged that they were “dropouts” from the promotion list dated June 27, 2024 and have not yet been assigned postings.
Due to the delay, the teachers said they are facing severe mental and financial stress. They pointed out that as per the official order, financial benefits are to be granted from the date of joining, but the absence of posting orders has prevented them from availing these benefits, resulting in continued financial losses.
The aggrieved teachers have urged the authorities, particularly the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, to immediately issue their posting orders so that they can assume charge and resume their duties.
They have also appealed to Education Minister Sakina Itoo to personally intervene in the matter and ensure its early resolution.
The teachers warned that if the issue is not addressed promptly, they may be compelled to pursue further democratic and legal avenues.
