Srinagar: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited has announced scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Srinagar and Anantnag districts to facilitate maintenance of transmission lines.
According to the department, a shutdown of the 33 kV Nowpora–Achabal Tapline will be carried out on May 09, 2026, due to which power supply to Achabal, Ferozpora, Doabagh and adjoining areas will remain affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora SH Pora line and 33 kV Wanganpora Kawdara line will be observed on May 05 and May 07, 2026. As a result, power supply to several areas of the old city including MR Gunj, Nawabazar, Mughal Masjid, Zadibal, Sazgiripora, Nowhatta, Jamia Masjid, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwara, Nawakadal, Shreen Bagh, Narwara and adjoining localities will remain suspended from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM on both days.
KPDCL has advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and has sought cooperation from the public during the shutdown period.
