The Minister outlined key initiatives being undertaken to promote women-led development. He highlighted financial empowerment measures supporting women entrepreneurs, including assistance under Mission Youth’s Tejaswini Scheme and market-linkage initiatives that help local products reach global platforms. He also underlined the transformative role of women’s Self-Help Groups in rural development through livelihood generation, financial inclusion and food processing initiatives.

Focusing on the future, Satish Sharma stressed the importance of science, technology and digital inclusion. He announced expanded efforts to promote digital literacy among women, especially in remote areas, enabling opportunities in coding, design and e-commerce from home. He also urged collaboration with FICCI FLO to establish “Women in Tech” incubators to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, the Minister spoke about strengthening the sports infrastructure for girls, promoting self-defence training for confidence building and intensifying campaigns against drug abuse through awareness, rehabilitation and community partnerships. He emphasised that engaging youth in skill development, volunteering and leadership roles is vital for nation-building.

Calling for closer collaboration, Satish Sharma extended partnership to FICCI FLO to establish a “Mentorship Bank” to guide rural entrepreneurs and identify regulatory and logistical bottlenecks that hinder business growth.

Congratulating the awardees, he said they embody the spirit of a progressive and aspirational Jammu & Kashmir. He urged them to continue inspiring others through their leadership and achievements.

“In rewriting the story of Jammu & Kashmir, your courage and determination are the guiding force,” he said, adding that when a woman rises, she uplifts her family, community and region.
