KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Aamir Khan on Sunday launched the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI)-2025 programme by administering Pulse Polio drops to a newborn at District Hospital (DH) Kulgam as part of the campaign.
He also reviewed the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the immunization drive.
The DC also stressed that achieving 100 percent coverage is essential to maintaining the district’s polio-free status.
He further urged to ensure that every child in the 0-5 years of age group receives polio drops and appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to health workers during booth-based and door-to-door vaccination activities.
He also directed the concerned officers to ensure proper supervision, availability of logistics, and smooth functioning of vaccination booths across the district.
It was shared that a total of 508 booths, including 12 transit booths, have been established across the district to ensure maximum coverage and near about 87000 children below 5 years are scheduled to be administered the pulse polio drops.
The programme will continue with door-to-door vaccination from tomorrow to ensure maximum coverage of eligible children across the district.
