They said another woman, 32-year-old, identified as Parveen Begum wife of Shabir Ahmad Shiekh of Nambla Fatawali sustained splinter injury in her arm during the shelling.

They said she received a minor injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and firing has stopped from both sides.

They said few vehicles and a resident house were also damaged in the cross border shelling.

The residents of Silikote, Balkote, Tilawari, Churanda and Batgarh have started fleeing their villages early this morning in view of the cross LoC firing at regular intervals since Monday, the officials said.

They said few vehicles and residential houses were also damaged in the cross border shelling.

SDPO Uri Junaid Wali confirmed the death of a woman in the cross border shelling.

Pertinently, five residential houses were damaged last week in Hajipeer sector after neighbours exchanged gunfire along the line of control LOC.
