JAMMU/DODA: At least 36 people were injured, including two critically, in separate road accidents in Jammu and Doda districts on Sunday, officials said.
In Jammu, 24 passengers were injured after a matador overturned at Shakuntla Flyover on Sunday evening.
Officials said the vehicle was carrying 35 passengers when it overturned on the flyover. Locals and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Of the injured, 18 sustained minor injuries, while two were reported to be in critical condition. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.
In a separate incident in Doda district, around 12 people were injured after a tempo overturned near Karmail Morh in the Baggar area while on its way to Doda town.
Officials said the vehicle lost control and overturned on the road, injuring several passengers. Locals and police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
The condition of all the injured is reported to be stable. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.
