RAJOURI: Authorities have ordered the closure of schools in parts of Kotranka in Rajouri district on Monday after rabid or stray dogs reportedly bit seven people and several other dogs in the area.
According to an order issued by the Zonal Education Planning Officer (ZEPO), Kotranka, stray dogs roaming in the area attacked seven persons, raising concerns over the safety of students.
In view of the situation, all educational institutions falling under the panchayats of Jaglanoo, Mohra-A, Mohra-B, Hubbi, Larkooti, Kandi Upper, Kandi Lower and Khadyoon will remain closed on August 10.
School heads and teachers have been directed to inform parents and guardians that students should not attend classes and must remain at home as a precautionary measure.
The order also instructed all concerned authorities to ensure strict compliance and take necessary steps to safeguard students and prevent any further incidents.
