Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Kashmir during August to facilitate maintenance works on transmission and distribution lines.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, power supply to Handwara town, Marathgam, Kulangam, Kandi, Chogal, Sagipora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 10 and 13 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Arampora-Handwara Old line.
Power supply to Boatman Colony, Bemina JVC Hospital, Children Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Science Laboratory, PC Depot, Qamarwari, Barthana and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 11 owing to the shutdown of the 33 kV JVC/PC Depot line.
The same line will remain shut on August 22 and 25, affecting power supply to Boatman Colony, Bemina JVC Hospital, Children Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Science Laboratory, PC Depot, Qamarwari, Barthana, SRTC, the under-construction High Court complex, Director Health Services office and adjoining areas from 8 am to 2 pm.
Meanwhile, power supply to Shariefabad, Durbal, Hanjik, Soibugh, Haran, Bonpora, Astanpora, Wadwan, Hanjikpora, Dharmuna, Russu, Gotpora, Pymus and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 26 and 30 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Shariefabad-Wadwan line.
In addition, power supply to Durbal, Hanjik, Shariefabad and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 27 due to the shutdown of the 11 kV Durbal feeder, KPDCL said.
