SRINAGAR: The Kupwara Squash Championship concluded at the Squash Complex, Gindun Stadium, Rajbagh, Srinagar, on Sunday after witnessing participation from 79 players across different age groups and categories.
The tournament was organised by the Kupwara Squash Rackets Association under the aegis of the Jammu and Kashmir Squash Rackets Association and was sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
According to organisers, players from various schools and colleges competed in Under-17 and Under-19 boys’ and girls’ categories, as well as senior men’s and women’s events.
Chief Executive Officer of Peaks Royal Ltd, Shah Jameel, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest, while Level-1 squash coach Saqib Fayaz was the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Jameel congratulated the organisers for conducting the championship and acknowledged the contributions of athletes, technical officials and the staff of Gindun Sports Centre in ensuring the successful conduct of the event.
Medals were distributed among winners and other top finishers during the closing ceremony.
The championship was sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
