SOPORE: A 20-year-old youth was killed and another injured after two motorcycles collided near Fruit Mandi in Sopore, officials said on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Wednesday when two motorcycles collided, leaving both riders injured. They were initially shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore and later referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
One of the injured, identified as Haziq Maqbool Mir (20), son of Mohammad Maqbool Mir and a resident of Kensoo in Bandipora district, succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura.
The other injured, Aashiq Ahmad Mir (30), son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir of Wagora in Baramulla district, is undergoing treatment, officials said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.
