Baramulla: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, on Saturday reviewed the progress of development works and assessed the delivery of essential public services during a visit to the Rafiabad constituency in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to an official statement, the minister visited Government High School Haman Kandi and inspected the infrastructure and facilities available to students. He directed the Chief Education Officer, Baramulla, to ensure adequate availability of teaching staff and effective implementation of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.
The minister also stressed the importance of providing nutritious meals to students and maintaining quality standards in educational institutions, the statement said.
During his visit to Tanmula village, Dar reviewed the progress of ongoing road construction works aimed at improving connectivity in the area. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of the projects while adhering to prescribed quality standards.
Later, the minister visited Community Health Centre (CHC) Chatosa and inspected the functioning of the healthcare facility. He reviewed the medical services being provided to patients and emphasised the need to ensure the availability of basic healthcare services for residents of the area.
The statement said Dar directed officials of various departments to work in a coordinated manner to improve the delivery of essential services in the health, education and social welfare sectors.
He also stressed that development initiatives should result in tangible benefits for the public, particularly people living in rural and underserved areas.
Officials from the health, education and social welfare departments accompanied the minister during the visit and briefed him on the status of ongoing works and service delivery in the constituency.
The visit forms part of the government’s ongoing review of development projects and public services, with a focus on strengthening infrastructure and improving access to essential facilities in rural areas.
