KULGAM: MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday inaugurated a newly constructed academic block at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Hanger in Kulgam district.
The three-storey building, comprising 10 rooms, has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.43 crore.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Bilal Ahmad Kamgar, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kulgam Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Executive Engineer R&B Fayaz Ahmad Kar, Principal GHSS Hanger Masroor Ahmad Ganie, and other officials, teachers and students.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarigami said educational infrastructure plays an important role in improving learning conditions in government schools and helping students access better facilities.
Chief Education Officer Kulgam Fayaz Ahmad Mir said the new block would help address space constraints at the institution, accommodate increasing student enrolment and support academic and extracurricular activities.
Officials said the facility is expected to strengthen infrastructure at the school and improve the overall learning environment for students.
