Anantnag: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, on Friday visited the Raghunath Ram Ji Temple at Nagbal Sherbagh to review arrangements and facilities put in place for devotees on the occasion of Janamashtami.
The DC, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Tariq Ahmad Malik, Tehsildar Anantnag and officers from various departments, inspected the arrangements at the temple and interacted with members of the management committee.
During the visit, Bhat reviewed the availability of essential services and directed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation, traffic regulation and medical facilities for devotees attending the festival.
According to officials, he instructed departments to keep all services operational throughout the celebrations and maintain close coordination with temple authorities to address any issues that may arise during the festivities.
The DC also extended greetings to devotees on the occasion and said that festivals provide an opportunity to promote communal harmony and strengthen social bonds. He described the historic temple as a symbol of the region’s shared cultural heritage and urged people to preserve its traditions.
Members of the temple management and devotees appreciated the arrangements made by the district administration for the smooth conduct of Janamashtami celebrations, officials said.
