Baramulla: Zone Sopore defeated Zone Dangerpora in the final to win the Under-19 Boys’ Kabaddi Competition of the Inter-Zonal District Level (IZDL) tournament at Indoor Stadium Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla, on Saturday.
Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the tournament saw participation from athletes representing different zones of the district.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori and Activity In-charge Shabir Ahmad Thoker attended the closing ceremony and congratulated the players for their performances and sportsmanship.
Meanwhile, the IZDL U-17 girls’ badminton competition continued at Bipin Rawat Indoor Stadium, Baramulla, with more than 50 participants taking part.
Table tennis selection trials were also held at Indoor Stadium Khawaja Bagh, where 16 U-17 girls competed for selection.
Officials said the competitions are aimed at providing young athletes with opportunities to showcase their talent and gain exposure at higher levels of sport.
