Srinagar/Jammu: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma on Friday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar.

Sharma was accompanied by Billawar MLA Satish Sharma during the meeting.

In a separate meeting, filmmaker and television presenter Siddharth Kak also called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues related to the protection and promotion of heritage sites in the Union Territory. Kak also presented a copy of his book, A Fire over Mount Everest, to the Lieutenant Governor.

Meanwhile, in Jammu, Lieutenant Governor Sinha met students of The Asian School, Jammu, at Lok Bhavan as part of the school’s curriculum-based educational outreach programme.

Interacting with the students, the Lieutenant Governor commended their enthusiasm and dedication and conveyed his best wishes for their academic pursuits and future endeavours. The programme was aimed at familiarising students with governance institutions and promoting civic awareness.

The students were accompanied by the school’s Chairman, Ankush Mahajan, and Principal, Atul M. Saxena.
