Later, a condolence and Isal-e-Sawab gathering was held at the late leader’s residence on M.A. Road in two sessions following Friday congregational prayers. The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat.

Addressing the gathering, Islamic scholar Prof. Mohammad Tayyib Kamili spoke on the Islamic perspective of life and death in the light of the Holy Quran and Hadith. He also paid tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah for his contributions to the socio-economic development of Jammu and Kashmir and referred to his role in establishing institutions, including the Muslim Auqaf Trust, Hazratbal Shrine and Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS).

The condolence meeting, presided over by Dr Farooq Abdullah, was addressed by National Conference representatives from the provincial, zonal and district levels, who paid tributes to Dr Kamal’s political and public life.

Speakers described the late leader as a dedicated public representative who remained committed to democratic values and public service throughout his political career. They remembered him for his humility, political experience and close connection with the people.

Special prayers were offered for the departed leader, while prayers were also held for strength and patience for the bereaved family.

On behalf of the National Conference leadership, General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani and Provincial President Showkat Ahmad Mir thanked political leaders, public representatives and people from within and outside Jammu and Kashmir who visited the family, attended the funeral and conveyed condolences over the past four days.
