DC reviews progress of 463 Srinagar Capex works, urges timely execution

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Thursday reviewed the progress of development works approved under the District Capex Budget 2026-27 and directed executing agencies to expedite the tendering and implementation of pending projects.

The review meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rifat Aftab Qureshi, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats Bashir Ahmad, executive engineers of various departments, Block Development Officers and other district and sectoral officers.

According to officials, 463 development works have been approved under the District Capex Budget 2026-27. Estimates for 433 works have been submitted by the executing agencies, while 377 works have already been tendered.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of estimates, tenders floated and works allotted by various departments. He directed the executing agencies to expedite the tendering of the remaining approved works to ensure timely commencement of projects.

Labroo also stressed the need to make optimum use of the ongoing working season to accelerate project execution and directed departments to complete sanctioned works within stipulated timelines while maintaining transparency and prescribed technical standards.

He further called for close coordination among line departments and executing agencies to ensure effective implementation of development projects and optimum utilisation of available resources across the district.
