Speaker inaugurates renovated facilities, new lifts at MLA Hostel Srinagar

Srinagar: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather on Friday inaugurated newly installed lifts and renovated facilities at the new hostel block of the MLA Hostel in Srinagar.

According to an official statement, the works were undertaken to upgrade infrastructure and improve facilities for Members of the Legislative Assembly by enhancing convenience, accessibility and overall comfort.

Speaking on the occasion, Rather said the MLA Hostel was an important facility for legislators and stressed the need for its regular maintenance and modernisation.

He expressed satisfaction over the completion of the works, saying the installation of modern lifts and renovation of the hostel would provide a safer and more user-friendly environment for legislators and other occupants.

The Speaker also directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities and emphasised the timely execution of developmental and renovation works to keep public infrastructure functional and efficient.

Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Manoj Kumar Pandit, Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) Central Kashmir, Chief Engineer, Mechanical and Hospital Engineering (M&HE), Srinagar, Executive Engineers and other officials were present on the occasion.
