Satish Sharma reviews facilities at Amarnath Yatra camps in Ramban district

Srinagar/Jammu: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, and Science and Technology Satish Sharma on Saturday inspected Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra camps at Banihal, Ramban and Chanderkote to review arrangements for pilgrims.

According to an official statement, Sharma, accompanied by Sajad Shaheen, assessed facilities at the camps, with particular focus on the quality, hygiene and availability of food at langars and community kitchens. He also reviewed arrangements for accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, medical care and other essential services.

During the visit, the Minister interacted with pilgrims and sought feedback on the facilities being provided. He assured them that the Jammu and Kashmir government is committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable and smooth pilgrimage.

Sharma also directed officials and personnel deployed at the camps to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and public service, while emphasising the need for close coordination among departments to ensure seamless arrangements throughout the pilgrimage.

He said the government would continue to provide quality food supplies, essential services and logistical support at Yatra camps and closely monitor arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees.

According to the statement, pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the facilities, including food quality, cleanliness and medical services, and appreciated the Minister’s visit to the camps.
