Satish Sharma reviews Baltal Yatra arrangements, greets pilgrims

BALTAL: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, Science & Technology and Transport Satish Sharma on Thursday welcomed pilgrims at the Baltal Base Camp and reviewed arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

Interacting with the pilgrims, the Minister enquired about their travel experience and wished them a safe, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling journey to the holy cave shrine.

During the visit, Sharma inspected arrangements related to transportation, accommodation, healthcare, sanitation, drinking water, food supplies, security and emergency response, and reviewed the preparedness of the concerned departments.

He appreciated the efforts of the civil administration, security forces, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, Health Department, Transport Department and other agencies for working in close coordination to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims.

The Minister said the government is committed to providing safe, efficient and hassle-free services throughout the pilgrimage and has mobilised all necessary resources for its smooth conduct.

He urged all departments and field functionaries to maintain the highest level of alertness, coordination and responsiveness so that any issue arising during the Yatra is addressed promptly, stressing that uninterrupted coordination among all agencies is essential for its peaceful and successful conduct.
