Anantnag: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Yatra Officer for the Pahalgam axis, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, on Wednesday inspected Yatra Transit Camps at the FCI Godown, Mir Bazaar, and Walnut Factory, Qazigund, to review final preparations for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, scheduled to commence on July 3.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the SDM Dooru, Superintending Engineers of PWD and KPDCL, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Executive Engineers of various engineering wings, CEO Municipal Council Anantnag, police officers and officials of other departments.
During the visit, he reviewed the arrangements put in place at both transit camps and assessed the need for any additional measures before the start of the pilgrimage.
Officials informed the Deputy Commissioner that adequate arrangements for toilets, healthcare, drinking water, power supply, langars, sanitation, hygiene and bedding had been made and would remain fully functional throughout the Yatra.
Interacting with the deployed staff, Dr. Bhat reviewed their operational preparedness and directed officials to ensure that all promised facilities are provided seamlessly so that pilgrims have a safe and comfortable experience.
He also inspected entry and exit points, parking areas and other critical locations, directing officials to ensure their proper management and continuous monitoring. The Deputy Commissioner further stressed the need for efficient maintenance of drainage systems, footpaths and langar spaces.
Traffic management, crowd regulation and contingency plans to accommodate pilgrims during adverse weather conditions were also reviewed and finalised.
Concluding the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the district administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe, secure and hassle-free pilgrimage for all devotees.
