The Managing Director chaired a review meeting at the Mini Secretariat, Keran, attended by officers of the district administration and various line departments. The meeting reviewed the village’s developmental profile, with emphasis on infrastructure, public service delivery, connectivity, livelihood generation and projects sanctioned under VVP-II.

Directing officials to expedite ongoing works, Mahmood Ahmad Shah stressed the need for close coordination among departments to ensure timely completion of approved projects. He said the Vibrant Villages Programme aims to transform border villages into self-reliant and sustainable communities by improving infrastructure, essential services and livelihood opportunities.

He also called for regular monitoring of projects to ensure quality execution, transparency and adherence to timelines, while directing departments to identify and address developmental gaps so that government welfare schemes reach every eligible household.

Earlier, the Managing Director held a public darbar at the Mini Secretariat, where residents raised issues related to road connectivity, drinking water, education, healthcare, civic amenities and other developmental needs.

Giving a patient hearing to the public, he assured them that all genuine issues would be examined and taken up with the concerned departments for prompt redressal. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the holistic development of border villages and emphasised the importance of community participation in the successful implementation of development initiatives.

Chief Planning Officer Kupwara Parvaiz Ahmad Lone and officers of various line departments accompanied the Managing Director during the visit.
