Samba: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Sunday accused the BJP-led Central Government of failing to ensure a transparent and credible examination system, alleging that repeated question paper leak cases in NEET and other competitive exams have put the future of millions of students at risk.
The allegations were raised during a public meeting organised by District Congress Committee (DCC) Samba President Sanjeev Sharma, which was attended by Sarpanches, Panches, students, youth and party workers.
Addressing the gathering, AICC Secretary Pargat Singh said repeated examination controversies had shaken the confidence of students and educated unemployed youth across the country. He alleged that the government had failed to protect the interests of aspirants who spend years preparing for competitive examinations.
Singh said students’ hard work and aspirations were being affected due to alleged paper leak incidents and demanded that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan take moral responsibility for the failures of the examination system.
“The future of millions of students cannot be compromised because of government negligence. Congress will continue to raise this issue until accountability is fixed and justice is delivered,” he said.
JKPCC Working President and former Minister Raman Bhalla alleged that repeated paper leak cases reflected a failure of the government to maintain the credibility of the recruitment and admission process.
He said every leaked examination paper deprived deserving candidates of opportunities earned through years of preparation and demanded accountability from those responsible.
Former MLA Indu Pawar and former Minister Yash Pal Kundal also addressed the gathering and criticised the government over issues concerning students and youth.
The Congress leaders said the party would continue its campaign for a fair, transparent and corruption-free examination system to safeguard the future of students.
