Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday held a meeting of its office bearers at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to review ongoing organisational activities and prepare a roadmap for upcoming programmes.
The meeting was chaired by J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma and was addressed by BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Vice-President Priya Sethi, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Anwar Khan and Gopal Mahajan, besides Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Ali Khatana.
The meeting was attended by party office bearers, district Prabharis, district presidents and district Seh-Prabharis from across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, a book highlighting major developmental initiatives and projects undertaken in the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary Constituency was also released.
Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma reviewed the ongoing organisational activities and stressed the need for effective implementation of upcoming party programmes at all levels. He informed party leaders about six key programmes scheduled by the organisation and highlighted the observance of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee’s birth anniversary on July 6 as part of the Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Smriti Pakhwada being observed from June 23 to July 6.
He also informed that BJP National President Nitin Nabin would visit Jammu on July 6 and 7 and participate in interactions with party workers, public conventions and organisational meetings.
Ashok Koul briefed the leaders about ongoing and upcoming organisational programmes and emphasised regular meetings from district level to booth level to strengthen the party network. He called for seminars on the life and contributions of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, plantation drives during the monsoon season and active participation in the party’s digital learning programme.
Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted the developmental initiatives undertaken in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the Union Territory has witnessed significant progress in infrastructure development and public welfare initiatives after the abrogation of Article 370.
Sanjita Dogra reviewed the status of party meetings and programmes conducted at district, mandal and Shakti Kendra levels and sought feedback from district presidents for effective implementation.
Baldev Singh Billawaria reviewed the conduct of the Mann Ki Baat programme across Jammu and Kashmir and discussed strengthening the party’s public outreach mechanism.
Gopal Mahajan presented a review of recently concluded programmes marking 12 years of the Modi Government and discussed activities being conducted under the Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Smriti Pakhwada.
Earlier, the party also held a core group meeting ahead of the office bearers’ meeting.
