Jammu, May 23: Bharatiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday welcomed the completion of 12 years of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing the period as a milestone in India’s development, governance and welfare journey.

In a statement, BJP J&K spokesperson Parimoksh Seth said that since assuming office in May 2014, the Narendra Modi-led government has focused on empowering the poor, strengthening the economy, improving infrastructure, enhancing transparency and boosting India’s global standing and internal security.

Seth said several flagship welfare initiatives launched during the past 12 years have transformed the lives of millions across the country, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, PM-KISAN, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and PM SVANidhi.

He also highlighted infrastructure development through highways, railways, airports, digital connectivity, renewable energy initiatives and rural electrification.

According to the BJP leader, these initiatives have contributed towards India emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.

Parimoksh Seth further stated that June 7, 2026, would mark a historic milestone as Narendra Modi is set to become India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister.

He said the BJP would organise nationwide programmes to commemorate the completion of 12 years of the Modi government, including Pragati Path Yatras, Viksit Bharat Sankalp conventions, public outreach campaigns, beneficiary registration camps and plantation drives under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative.

Seth added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership is guiding the country towards the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
