New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir House on Saturday unveiled newly redeveloped VVIP accommodation facilities aimed at strengthening hospitality infrastructure for dignitaries visiting the national capital.
Resident Commissioner Ramesh Kumar inaugurated the modernised fourth floor of C-Block in the presence of Additional Resident Commissioner Anil Kumar Sharma and senior officers of the Resident Commission.
Officials said the redevelopment was undertaken after the reorganisation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, following which A and B Blocks of the complex were transferred to the Union Territory of Ladakh, leaving J&K with only the ageing C-Block and reduced accommodation capacity.
To address the shortage, the administration carried out a comprehensive revamp of the fourth floor.
The upgraded floor now houses three suites — Pashmina, Hangul and Chinar — along with two VVIP rooms named Trikuta and Saffron.
According to officials, the facilities have been developed on contemporary hospitality standards to provide improved comfort, security and professional accommodation for visiting Ministers, Members of Parliament, senior civil and police officers, judicial officers and official delegations from Jammu and Kashmir.
