Srinagar: A meeting of the House Committee on Jal Jeevan Mission was held at the Legislative Assembly Complex in Srinagar on Monday under the chairmanship of MLA Hasnain Masoodi.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Ali Mohammad Dar, Altaf Ahmad Wani, Ajaz Ahmad Jan, Tanvir Sadiq, Javaid Riyaz, Rafiq Ahmad Naik, Arjun Singh Raju and Iftikar Ahmad.
During the meeting, the chairman shared the proceedings and field observations of the committee with members and sought their suggestions and findings for inclusion in the final report to be submitted before May 31, 2026, on completion of the committee’s term.
The members highlighted various discrepancies observed during field visits regarding execution of water supply schemes in different districts.
They stressed timely submission of the committee report based on factual findings, field observations and departmental records.
The committee also deliberated on a communication received from the Jal Shakti Department Jammu and Kashmir seeking permission for delinking 1,426 retrofitting water supply schemes from the Jal Jeevan Mission.
