Baramulla: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department Javid Ahmad Dar on Friday paid obeisance at the revered shrine of Syed Mewaan Shah Qalander Shrine in Dalora, Rafiabad and offered prayers for peace, prosperity and progress of Jammu and Kashmir and the country.
During the visit, the Minister prayed for communal harmony and wellbeing of the people and interacted with the shrine caretaker and devotees. He highlighted the importance of spiritual institutions in preserving the Valley’s traditions of brotherhood, tolerance and social cohesion.
Later, Javid Dar visited a Horticulture Department facility in the area and reviewed the infrastructure and support services being provided to orchardists and farmers.
The Minister inspected the available facilities and sought feedback regarding government schemes and technical assistance being extended to the farming community.
Emphasising the significance of horticulture as a major contributor to the rural economy of Jammu and Kashmir, he directed the concerned officers to ensure efficient service delivery, timely technical guidance and greater outreach to farmers.
He reiterated the government’s commitment towards strengthening the horticulture sector through modernisation, capacity building and improved institutional support aimed at enhancing productivity and livelihood opportunities.
The Minister also stressed the need for proactive field-level monitoring and close coordination among departmental functionaries to effectively address farmers’ concerns and accelerate implementation of developmental programmes at the grassroots level.
