Budgam: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather on Friday inaugurated several upgraded healthcare facilities at Community Health Centre Kremshore aimed at improving medical services in the area.
The newly inaugurated facilities include a dedicated hotline service, an ultrasonography (USG) machine and a modern dental chair to enhance patient care, diagnostic services and accessibility of healthcare for residents of Kremshore and adjoining areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Rather said the government is committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure at the grassroots level to ensure timely diagnosis, improved treatment facilities and reduced dependence on tertiary hospitals.
He said the installation of the USG machine would significantly improve diagnostic services, particularly for pregnant women, elderly patients and those requiring immediate imaging support.
The newly installed dental chair is expected to strengthen oral healthcare facilities by enabling specialised dental treatment locally, reducing the need for patients to travel to other hospitals.
Health officials briefed the Speaker about the functioning of the health institution and ongoing initiatives aimed at improving healthcare outreach and patient satisfaction.
Rather appreciated the efforts of doctors, paramedical staff and the Health Department for continuing healthcare services despite various challenges. He also interacted with medical staff and local residents and urged healthcare professionals to maintain patient-friendly services.
Locals and community representatives welcomed the upgradation of facilities and said the new services would ease hardships faced by patients in the area.
The programme was attended by Chief Medical Officer Budgam, officials from the Health Department, district administration, medical staff and prominent citizens.
