Bandipora: The District Legal Services Authority on Saturday organised a Special Lok Adalat for labour disputes and land acquisition cases in Bandipora.
The Lok Adalat was held in coordination with the Tehsil Legal Services Committees of Bandipora, Sumbal and Gurez, in collaboration with the district administration.
The proceedings were conducted under the supervision of DLSA chairman and Principal District and Sessions Judge Jeema Bashir and under the guidance of DLSA secretary Sheikh Babar Hussain.
Three benches were constituted to hear the cases.
The first bench was headed by Jeema Bashir with advocate Malik Mushtaq as member. The second bench was chaired by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shabir Ahmad Wani, while the third bench was presided over by Assistant Labour Commissioner Rabiya Iqbal with Labour Inspector Abid Ahmad Naik as member.
A total of 29 cases were taken up during the Special Lok Adalat, of which six were settled amicably on the spot.
Officials said the Lok Adalat provided a simple and effective platform for the speedy resolution of disputes related to labour and land acquisition matters.
