SRINAGAR: Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Faz Lul Haseeb, on Friday visited Maisuma market and directed officials to take immediate measures to improve drainage and street lighting in the area.
During the visit, traders informed the Commissioner about problems related to waterlogging and inadequate lighting in the busy commercial hub.
Taking note of the issues, Faz Lul Haseeb directed officials to develop and maintain a deep drainage system in the area to ensure proper flow of storm water and prevent waterlogging, particularly during bad weather.
He also instructed the concerned wing of the corporation to install high-voltage streetlights to improve visibility and public safety and to facilitate smoother movement of pedestrians and commuters during evening hours.
The Commissioner was accompanied by the Superintending Engineer (Drainage), Executive Engineer (Electric) and other senior officials of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
Faz Lul Haseeb said issues affecting public convenience and business activity would be addressed on priority through coordinated and time-bound action.
