Five drug peddlers held in Srinagar, Sopore: Police

Srinagar: Police have arrested five drug peddlers in Srinagar and Sopore districts, and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Monday.

He said Yawar Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad Karni, resident of Abi Buchwara, and Maroof Bilal Kolu, son of Bilal Ahmad Kolu, resident of Indira Nagar, Srinagar, and Shoib Hilal Lawaye, son of Hilal Ahmad Lawaye, resident of Drugjan, Dalgate, were arrested near CD Hospital Dalgate after 9.6 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.

At Sozeith Bund, one Abid Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, resident of Sozeith Goripora, was arrested and 430 grams of cannabis and 750 grams of cannabis powder concealed in a polythene bag was recovered from his possession.

Near Sanctorum Public School Lalad Sopore, Tawheed Nabi Gojri, son of Ghulam Nabi Gojri, resident of Peth Seer Sopore was arrested and 312 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus recovered from his possession.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been taken up.
